Julie Cyra

Let's Talk Saddle Fitting

Saturday, March 16 at 11AM-12PM

Speaker: Julie Cyra

Owner of West20 Ranch & Saddle Co.

Julie will talk about why a correct fitting saddle is so important and how to choose the right saddle for your horse. Join us to learn the basics and help your riding partner.

Meet the Speaker!

Julie Cyra is the owner and proprietor of one of the country’s largest saddle shops, West 20 Ranch & Saddle Co., located in East Troy, Wisconsin. The facility and retail store were designed specifically with saddle fitting in mind, and have become a destination point for people and their horses. Julie’s saddle shop has been labeled as one of the last of the all American-Made saddle shops, catering to those that appreciate the quality and workmanship of handmade saddles and tack, and helping to educate each and every customer about the quality and fit
they should expect. Cyra started the business in 1990, after working several years with other saddlers in the area. She also works closely with many saddle manufacturers to determine what is missing in our industry, and to help them to build affordable products customers need to fit today’s modern and varied breed
standards.
Julie has done countless private saddle fittings, and hundreds of clinics over the years in Wisconsin and other states. She has a simple and unique way of educating the horse owner, and uses facts, rather than opinions, to clarify the confusion people feel when they discuss saddle fitting.
Phil Burns

Tick Borne Diseases

Saturday, March 16 at 1PM-2PM

Speaker: Phil Burns

Elkhorn Vet Clinic, Chief of Staff, Equine & Large Animal Vet

As the tick season approaches, we invite you to gain insights into the various tick-borne diseases from Dr. Burns. Join us in equipping ourselves for a safe and adventurous summer ahead.

Meet the Speaker!

Dr. Phil Burns graduated from Colorado State University in 1986 and completed a year-long internship at Illinois Equine Clinic in Naperville, IL. Following his internship, he joined the Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic, specializing in equine reproduction and lameness. Dr. Burns became a partner of the practice and is currently a Chief of Staff.
Early experiences on his grandmother’s farm delivering lambs sparked Dr. Burns’ desire to become a veterinarian. This desire was further cultivated through years of horse experience: riding, managing a boarding stable, working for an equine veterinarian, and then working at the Colorado State Equine Reproduction Laboratory during his college years For over 20 years, Dr. Burns has also practiced seasonally in New Zealand at an Equine Specialty Referral Hospital on the South Island. He and his wife raised two lovely daughters on their small hobby farm in Eagle, WI along with 2 horses, a small flock of sheep, and poultry. When not with his family or practicing veterinary medicine, Phil enjoys running, gardening, writing, hiking and just being in nature.
