New Executive Director Kim Good

The Board of Directors of SMILES (Special Methods in Learning Equine Skills, Inc.) is pleased to introduce the new Executive Director of the organization. Kimberly A Good, of Waukesha, has accepted the position.

Kim most recently served Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast as Director of Research and Evaluation. Her experience includes Marketing and Communications work with United Way of Greater Milwaukee, and extensive involvement with Greyhound Pets of America-Wisconsin. She also has a passion for horses and the positive impact that they have upon lives, and she has previous experience volunteering for a therapeutic riding facility in California. She has worked at multiple horse camps as a counselor and as Assistant Riding Director. Her unique educational background, a masters in Social Work (MSW) as well as in Business Administration (MBA), allows her to be front and center as she serves the special needs clients of the Southeastern Wisconsin state line area.

"My work background is diverse, my passion for people, especially with special needs and learning equine skills, is strong, and I believe these are the assets that the next Executive Director of SMILES requires" she has said. Kim will be replacing the current Executive Director, Gay Stran, upon Stran's retirement in December.

SMILES, located in Darien, WI, provides Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies to people of all ages who have special needs. Lives, and living skills are improved through the services offered at SMILES. SMILES is accredited through PATH International as a Premier Center, assuring clients of the highest standards in the industry. SMILES is a non-profit organization holding 501c3 status, and relies upon the generosity and
support of the community to continue in its mission.
